Copyright law and open licenses for digital learning, Darius Whelan & Catherine Cronin, Monday 29 June.
This session is presented by Darius Whelan (School of Law, UCC) and Catherine Cronin (National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education). Darius discusses various implications of Irish copyright law for digital teaching and learning, e.g., sharing copyrighted images within course materials that are posted on a VLE, provisions of the new Irish copyright act, and more. Catherine discusses the benefits of reusing, creating and sharing openly licensed learning materials (OER), particularly in the current circumstances, as well as important considerations to keep in mind when choosing and using an open licence for your own work.
