1. Student IT Services
G Suite for Education: Core educational technology that all UCD staff and students have access to. Includes Google Chat, Google Calendar (syncs with UCD Timetable), Google Drive, Google + etc.
UCD Connect: Platform which provides access to a wide range of university services and information.
UCD Mobile App: Provides access to a range of services and information including an interactive map of campus.
2. Student Software Applications
Office 365:Including software such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Powerpoint.
Apps Anywhere: this provides staff and students access to a selection of academic application software for academic use.
Software Downloads: A service from UCD It Services that provides staff and students access to a library of software applications and utilities licensed by UCD.
UCD students have free access to Sophos antivirus software
3. Student Training
This guide is designed to introduce the key IT services available at UCD. There is also Microsoft Office Online Training (courses provided by IT Services using GMetrix LearnKey software).
4. Educational Technologies
Brightspace (VLE) used by UCD: Discover Brightspace section with videos and tips on how to use the VLE. The Student Guide to Brightspace is a recorded lecture which also provides guidance on getting to grips with UCD’s VLE. Brightspace Ally is accessibility tool integrated in Brightspace which allows students to view materials in different formats such as text to speech, high contrast etc.

Sophos anti-virus software available to download for free.
Discounts and offers on technological products and services available from HEANet.
6. Library
Series of interactive tutorials and videos on a variety of subjects, from how to use the library to referencing and plagiarism.
There is also a laptop loan service within the Library and access to various academic databases and ebooks via the Library website.
The Student Advisers are a point of contact, support and referral for all UCD students. They can advise on UCD policies and services and offer support to students in finding pathways to dealing with any issues they might face. UCD Students’ Union also provides support to students who need help navigating educational and welfare related issues.
8. UCD Careers Network
This is an online portal for students which posts relevant job vacancies, upcoming careers events and allows students to book appointments for career services (CV/ Cover Letter review). The Careers network also organises internship fairs, seminars, and career mentoring.
9. Research Computing
UCD provides High Performance Computing through Sonic HPC, Matlab and RStudio Pro Server (currently being piloted in UCD).
