EDTL open Course in Numbers

The EDTL Open Course which was launched last year has seen staff from institutions all over the country take part, from Universities to ETBs and everything in-between. This piece will take a look at some of the key figures.

The EDTL Getting Started with Personal & Professional Digital Capacity  badge is designed to place you on your digital development pathway, by supporting you to reflect on your own strengths, needs and goals in the digital learning environment, as well as those of your students. It is available here. Since launching in November, there has been a huge amount of interest, and we’re going to take a look at some of the data.

The Getting Started with Personal & Professional Digital Capacity open course was developed by the EDTL team in partnership with the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning, based on pilot activities in each of our partner universities. The open course was launched in November 2021 with more than 80 participants. In January 2022, 46 badges were awarded to those who successfully demonstrated completion of the course, and a further 11 facilitator badges were awarded to those who went on to complete facilitator training.  Congratulations in particular to EDTL team members Marta Bustillo (UCD) and Andreas Boldt (MU) who are among the new facilitators.

The course is now undergoing a review and will be rolled out again on the National Forum open courses platform later this year. A fully open version will be available to download from the National Forum and the EDTL project websites. To read more about the content of the course, there’s more information in this article from our December newsletter
