A Look Back at our Webinar Series

From discussing student digital skills to escape rooms to hybrid universities, the EDTL webinar series has covered an exciting range of topics within the past year. Here, we highlight some of our most popular webinars in the past 12 months.

As 2021 draws to a close, we take a look back at some of our most popular webinars from the past year. The majority of our webinars are recorded, so if you are unable to attend live, there is always a chance to look at our Webinar page and catch up on anything you may have missed.

What are the Digital Skills Graduates Need?

Enhancing the digital skills of our graduates is one of the high level aims of the EDTL project. But what that means in practice can sometimes be a difficult question.
On the 15th of November Marian O’Connor (EDTL Project Lead at UCD), Rob Lowney & Suzanne Stone (EDTL Project Leads at DCU) and Nora Trench Bowles (Head of Lifelong Learning, Skills and Quality, IUA) came together to discuss what precisely are the digital skills our graduates need.

Post-pandemic Hybrid Universities: Re-connecting Higher Education with Slow Scholarship and Deep Practice

The concept of the Hybrid University has attracted much interest in the wake of the radical shift in teaching and learning that came with the shift to full online learning in the 2020/21 academic year.
On Monday 28th June, we were joined by Rikke Toft Nørgård, from the Danish School of Education at Aarhus University, for a presentation and discussion about hybrid universities in the post pandemic environment.

Your Education, Your Voice, Your Vision – What Our Students Said

The Your Education, Your Voice, Your Vision campaign by the IUA Enhancing Digital Teaching and Learning in Irish Universities project, aimed to crowd-source the vision for university learning in a post-Covid environment; challenging third-level students across Ireland to project themselves into the post-pandemic future and imagine their ideal learning experience. Our goal is to use students’ remote learning and assessment experiences to help create a better and brighter future for third-level education in Ireland. We want to imagine a future that caters for every student in Ireland, where no one is left behind.

Our EDTL Team and our EDTL Student Interns discussed the results of the campaign in a webinar that can be found here. For a more in depth look at the results, you can also read our report on the results of the campaign here.
