Academic integrity in the digital age
By Sharon Flynn (@sharonlflynn), Project Manager

Staff who teach and support learning in Irish higher education have been worried about academic integrity in the assessment of modules in the online environment. In March the project issued some guidance in the context of Covid-19. In our community webinar Assessment Online in a Crisis, on 6 April, our project manager spoke about academic integrity, and we also heard from Bonnie Long (NUIG) about using Collaborate Ultra for Live Exam Invigilation.
Ireland’s inaugural National Academic Integrity Week will take place from Monday 19 to Friday 23 October, with a programme of events curated by the National Academic Integrity Network (NAIN). The EDTL project will contribute to the programme in a few ways, including a webinar on Monday 19 October entitled Consider Technology to Support Academic Integrity. Details are available through the #IUADigEd community or directly from one of the team members.
Our EDTL student intern team will spend the week promoting academic integrity on the edtl.iua Instagram account, highlighting supports that are available to students who need a little help with completing assignments. And we will be re-launching our Advice for Academic Integrity in Online Assessment in a new, engaging form to complement the EDTL Approach for Effective Remote Teaching.
